About Greenfield Cricket Club

A village club with a proud history, a welcoming spirit, and a vision for the next generation of cricketers.

Over 130 Years of Cricket

Founded in 1892, Greenfield Cricket Club began as a small group of local villagers playing on a rough pasture at the edge of town. By the early 1900s, the club had formalised its membership and erected its first timber pavilion — the predecessor to today's clubhouse.

Through two world wars, changing seasons, and generations of families, the club has remained a constant in the community. Our honours board includes league titles, cup victories, and countless individual performances that are still talked about in the bar.

Today, we field three senior men's teams, a women's side, and a thriving junior section. The ground has hosted county second XI fixtures and remains one of the most picturesque venues in the region.
